TED SILVERMAN
Originating in Manhattan, Ted Silverman was born the third child of a marching band drummer and a High school musical soprano and spent his formative musical years learning guitar, just over the Hudson River from New York in Northern New Jersey.  As a star in his Third Grade recorder band, Ted never realized he'd someday travel ‘round the Bay Area earning tens of dollars as an itinerant bluegrass mandolin picker and singer with Belle Monroe and Her Brewglass Boys.  Ted arrived in the Bay Area in 1987 and spent most of his musical time playing Rock & Roll, but a few years later he caught the Bluegrass Bug.  Ted’s take on the idiom was more about the “high” than the “lonesome.”  Ted is a charter member of the Brewglass Boys, and was also a key part of the band’s original swingin’ alter-ego, the Chazz Cats.
