Brewglass Friday @ the SFBOT
Belle and the Boys are pleased to be performing this Friday evening as part of the San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival, the Bay Area’s annual week-long celebration of all things twang! There are dozens of fantastic acts this year, including some of our favorites like the Deadly Gentlemen, Foghorn Stringband, the Bee Eaters, Rita Hosking, the Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, and so many others. This year is lucky number 13 for the festival, and Belle and the Boys have played 12 of them!
We’ll be at the Starry Plough in Berkeley this Friday night, with Ray Bierl and Markie Sanders opening. See you there!
Brewglass @ Amnesia
Amnesia is one of the great treasures of the San Francisco bluegrass scene. A classy and hip bar in the heart of the Mission that has live bluegrass every Monday evening, with no cover… what more can a person ask for?! Owner Shawn Magee is a fine player and singer himself; check out his sea shanty band The Barbary Ghosts.
You can catch Belle and the Boys at Amnesia the first Monday of every month (although we’ll be off in March; we’ll be traveling home from the Lake Havasu bluegrass festival in Arizona that day). Check this cool photo snapped by our pal Leif Karlstrom last Monday:
January 14 @ The Uptown
Happy New Year from Belle and the Boys! We’re looking forward to playing The Uptown nightclub in Oakland later this month. The evening will open with the debut performance of the Better Halves, and close out with the Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit from Oakdale, CA. Check out the poster that the Better Halves put together:
Belle & Boys featured in June 2011 California Bluegrass Association Newsletter
Our good pal Chuck Poling wrote up a nice article that was published in the June newsletter of the California Bluegrass Association. It takes a closer look at the production of our latest record, and how we go about arranging and producing songs. Check it out.

We had a blast down at the Parkfield Bluegrass Festival. Check out these videos:
Long Lonesome Day Now Available
In April 2011 Belle Monroe & Her Brewglass Boys released their second full-length record: Long Lonesome Day . It features a mix of original bluegrass and some choice covers. Produced by the band and Ben Bernstein and recorded in Emeryville at Spliggityfidge Studios, Long Lonesome Day is dedicated to the memory of former bandmate Rick Hendricks, who succumbed to cancer in December 2009.
Purchase the album online at CD Baby, Bandcamp, or on iTunes.
